Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Abu Ja‘far, from his father, from Abdullah ibn al-Fadl al-Nawfali, from Ali ibn Abi Hamzah and others, from some of his teachers. He said: I said to Abu Abdillah عليه السلام: “Shall I separate (the rak‘ahs) in the witr?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Yes.” I asked: “Sometimes I become thirsty, so I drink water.” Imam عليه السلام said: “Yes, and (even) marry (if you wish).”
