Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf from Abu Bakr al-Hadrami, who said:
I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, and said: "When should I perform the two rak‘ahs of Fajr?" Imam عليه السلام said: "When the dawn appears across the horizon, and that is what the Arabs call 'al-Sadi‘ (the splitter of the night).”
