Chapter on the Detailed Explanation of Prayer, Including the Obligatory and Recommended, and What is Permissible and Not Permissible.
وَ رُوِيَ عَنِ اَلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:« مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ اَلْآيَةَ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ« قُلْ إِنَّمٰا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُوحىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمٰا إِلٰهُكُمْ إِلٰهٌ وٰاحِدٌ فَمَنْ كٰانَ يَرْجُوا لِقٰاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلاً صٰالِحاً وَ لاٰ يُشْرِكْ بِعِبٰادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَداً» سَطَعَ لَهُ نُورٌ إِلَى اَلْمَسْجِدِ اَلْحَرَامِ حَشْوُ ذَلِكَ اَلنُّورِ مَلاَئِكَةٌ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ»
And it has been narrated from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family, that He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said: "Whoever recites this verse at the time of sleep: ‘Say: I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God عز وجل is One God عز وجل. So whoever hopes to meet his Lord عز وجل, let him do righteous work and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord عز وجل’ (Surah Kahf 18:110). (Thus) a light will shine for him extending to the Sacred Mosque (‘al-Masjid al-Haram’), and within that light will be angels seeking forgiveness for him until morning."
