Chapter on the Detailed Explanation of Prayer, Including the Obligatory and Recommended, and What is Permissible and Not Permissible.

Sa’d ibn Abdullah from Abu Ja’far from Ali ibn Hadid and Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Najran from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz ibn Abdillah from Zurarah from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, who said: I said to Him عليه السلام: "A man forgets the first Takbir of the opening (Takbirat al-Iftitah)." Imam عليه السلام said: "If he remembers it before bowing, let him say the Takbir, then recite, then bow. And if he remembers it during the prayer, let him say it while standing, in the place of the Takbir, before the recitation and after the recitation." I asked: "And if he remembers it after the prayer?" Imam عليه السلام said: "Then let him make it up, and there is nothing upon him."
