Chapter on the Prayer over the Dead

Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ismail ibn Sa’ad al-Ashari from Abu al-Hasan al-Ridha عليه السلام, peace be upon him, he said: I asked Imam al-Ridha عليه السلام about the prayer over the deceased (Salat Al Mayyit). Imam عليه السلام said: “As for the believer, five takbirs; and as for the hypocrite, four and there is no salam in it.”
