Chapter on the Rulings of Congregational Prayer (the Minimum Number for Congregational Prayer, the Description of the Imam, Who Is to Be Followed and Who Is Not to Be Followed, Recitation Behind Both of Them, the Rulings of Those Led in Prayer, and Other Such Rulings Related to It)

Sa’ad ibn Abdillah from Musa ibn al-Hasan from Ayyub ibn Nuh from Safwan ibn Yahya from Said ibn Abdillah al-Araj, who said: I asked Aba Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about a man who enters the mosque to pray with the imam (of prayer) and finds the row crowded with people, so he stands alone until the imam (of prayer) finishes the prayer, is that permissible for him? Imam عليه السلام said: “Yes, there is no harm in it.”
