Chapter on the Prayer of the Two Eids

وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنِ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنِ اَلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبَانٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ اَلْفُضَيْلِ اَلْهَاشِمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« رَكْعَتَانِ مِنَ اَلسُّنَّةِ لَيْسَ يُصَلَّيَانِ فِي مَوْضِعٍ إِلاَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ» قَالَ «يُصَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِ اَلرَّسُولِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ فِي اَلْعِيدِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُخْرَجَ إِلَى اَلْمُصَلَّى لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ فَعَلَهُ»
And from him, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Abdillah, from al-Abbas ibn Amir, from Aban, from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl al-Hashimi, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “There are two rak’ahs from the Sunnah which are not performed in any place except in Madinah.” Imam عليه السلام said: “They are performed in the Mosque of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, peace be upon him and his family, on Eid, before one goes out to the place of prayer. This is not (done) except in Madinah, because the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, peace be upon him and his family, did it.”
