Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 3|Book 2|Chapter 1
From him, from Abu Ja’far, from al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Yaqtin, from his brother, from their father Ali ibn Yaqtin, who said:
I asked Abu al-Hasan al-Awwal عليه السلام (the First), peace be upon him, about a man who sets out on a journey and it is the distance of a day. Imam al-Kadhim عليه السلام said: “He is obligated to shorten (the prayer) if it is the distance of a day, even if he is going around for his work (‘ya-duuru fi amalihi’).”
