Ahmad ibn Muhammad by Ali ibn al-Nu'man by Muhammad ibn Sinan by Abdillah ibn Maskan by al-Halabi:
(al-Halabi) asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about performing the supererogatory prayer (al-nafilah), on a camel or riding animal. Imam عليه السلام said: “Yes, as long as he is facing the direction (of prayer). And likewise did the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, peace be upon him and his family.”
