Sa’ad ibn Abdillah from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from Khalid ibn Madd al-Qalanisi from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I asked Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام about a man who is eaten by a wild beast or a bird, and only his bones remain, without flesh. What should be done with him? Imam عليه السلام said: “He should be washed, shrouded, prayed over, and buried. And if the deceased is in two halves, the prayer (Salat Al Mayyit) should be performed over the half that contains his heart.”
