Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings
From him, from Muhammad ibn Isa from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hashim from Salim Abu Khadijah from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “If you are the imam (of prayer) of a group, then it is upon you to recite in the first two rak‘ahs, and upon those behind you to say: ‘SubhanAllah, wal-hamdu lillah, wa la ilaha illa Allah, wa Allahu Akbar’ while they are standing. Then, in the last two rak‘ahs, it is upon those behind you to recite the ‘Fatihat al-Kitab’ (Surah al-Fatihah), and upon the imam (of prayer) is the ‘tasbih’ in the same way that the people say in the last two rak‘ahs.”
