Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings

From him, from Amr ibn Uthman, from Husayn ibn Bakr, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'id al-Khazzaz, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said: Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “In Kufah, there is a mosque called the ‘Mosque of al-Sahlah’. If my uncle Zayd had gone to it and prayed in it and sought refuge with Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Allah سبحانه وتعالى would have granted him refuge for twenty years. In it is the resting place of the ‘Rider’.” It was asked: “And who is the ‘Rider’?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Al-Khidr عليه السلام, peace be upon him, and the house of Idris عليه السلام the Prophet, peace be upon him. And no distressed person has ever come to it and prayed in it, between the two evening prayers, and supplicated to Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Mighty and Majestic, except that Allah سبحانه وتعالى relieved his distress.”
