Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim from Imam Ja’far عليه السلام, from his father عليه السلام, from his forefathers, peace be upon them:
Imam Ali عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said: “Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is to bury it.” (meaning cover it with sand)
