Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya from al-Abbas ibn Ma'ruf from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Talhah ibn Zayd from Imam Ja’far عليه السلام, from his father عليه السلام, peace be upon them both, who said: Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام said: “Let none of you spit during prayer in front of his face, nor to his right, but let him spit to his left and beneath his left foot.”
