Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Hammad ibn Isa from al-Husayn ibn al-Mukhtar from Abu Usamah Zayd al-Shahham who said:
I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, regarding the saying of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Mighty and Majestic: Do not approach the prayer while you are intoxicated’ (Surah An Nisa 4:43). Imam عليه السلام said: “(It is referring to) ‘the intoxication of sleep’.”
