Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings
Sa’ad from Abu Ja’far from his father from Abdullah ibn al-Mughirah from Abdullah ibn Sinan who said:
I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about a mosque that is within a house or a room, and its people want to expand into part of it or move it to another place. Imam عليه السلام said: “There is no harm in that.” I (ibn Sinan) said: “And what about a place that was a refuse area for some time, then it is cleaned and made into a mosque?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Throw earth over it until it is covered, for that purifies it, if Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, wills.”
