Chapter on the Virtue of Mosques and Prayer Within Them, and the Virtue of Congregational Prayer and Its Rulings
From him عليه السلام, from his forefathers عليه السلام, peace be upon them:
Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “The Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, saw a man flicking a pebble in the mosque. Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said: “It continues to be cursed until it lands.” He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said: “Flicking pebbles in gatherings is from the manners of people of Lut.” Then Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, peace be upon him, recited: “And you commit in your gatherings what is detestable” (Surah Al Ankabut 29:29), And Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said: “That is the flicking of pebbles.”
