Chapter on What Is Lawful for Banu Hashim and Unlawful from Zakat

Sa’ad ibn Abdullah, from Abu Jafar, from Muhammad ibn Ismail ibn Bazi, who said: I (narrator) sent dinars to Imam al-Ridha عليه السلام, peace be upon him, on behalf of some of my family, and I wrote to Imam عليه السلام informing him that among them was zakat, seventy-five, and the remainder was a gift. Imam عليه السلام, peace be upon him, wrote in his own handwriting: “I have received it.” And I (narrator) sent to Imam عليه السلام dinars belonging to me and to others, and I wrote to Imam عليه السلام that they were from the fitrah of the dependents. Imam عليه السلام, peace be upon him, wrote in his own handwriting: “I have received it.”
