Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Ahmari, from Abdullah ibn Hammad, from Ismail ibn Sahl, from Hammad, and Burayd, and Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام and Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon them both, said:
We asked the both Imams عليه السلام, peace be upon them both, about ‘Zakat al-Fitrah.’ They عليه السلام both said: “One sa’ of dates, or raisins, or barley, or half of all of that as wheat, or flour, or parched flour, or maize, or a type of barley without husk (sult), on behalf of the young and the old, the male and the female, the adult, and those whom you support; in that they are the same.”
