Chapter on Additions Regarding Zakat
Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 4|Book 1|Chapter 29
وَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ: مِثْلَهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ» إِنِ اِجْتَهَدَ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ وَ إِنْ قَصَّرَ فِي اَلاِجْتِهَادِ فِي اَلطَّلَبِ فَلاَ«.
And from Zurarah: the like of it, except that Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said:
Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: "If he exerted effort (seeking those entitled to zakat), then he has become free of liability; and if he fell short in exerting effort in seeking, then no."
