Muhammad ibn Ya'qub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad ibn Isa, from Hariz, from Sudayr al-Sayrafi, who said:
I (narrator) said to Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “Shall I feed a beggar whom I do not know to be a Muslim?” Imam عليه السلام said: "Yes, give to one whom you do not know to have allegiance (wilayah) or enmity (nasb) toward the truth. Indeed Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Mighty and Majestic, says: 'And speak kindly to people.' (Surah al-Baqarah 2:83) And do not feed one who shows hostility to anything of the truth (nawasib), or calls to anything of falsehood."
