Chapter on Zakat of the Wealth of Children and the Insane

Muhammad ibn Ismail, from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan, and Ahmad ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Jabbar, all from Safwan ibn Yahya, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, from Abu al-Utarid al-Hannat, who said: I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, about ‘wealth of the orphan is with me, and I trade with it.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “If you move it, then its zakat is upon you.” I (narrator) asked: “I move it for eight months and leave it for four months.” Imam عليه السلام said: “Its zakat is upon you.”
