Chapter on Ruling of the Traveller and the Sick Person Regarding Fasting
Muhammad ibn Yaqub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad, from Hariz, from Zurarah:
Abu Ja’far Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام said: “The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family, named a people who continued to fast even when He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم broke the fast and shortened the prayer, He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم labelled them as ‘disobedient ones.’” Imam عليه السلام said: “They remain known as the disobedient ones until the Day of Resurrection, and indeed we know their sons and the sons of their sons (descendants) up to this day of ours.”
