(Imam عليه السلام was asked) regarding ‘a man who finds pain in his head from a severe headache, Is it permissible for him to break the fast?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “If he is afflicted with a severe headache, and if he is afflicted with a severe fever, and if his eye becomes inflamed with severe inflammation, then breaking the fast has become lawful for him.”
