Ali ibn al-Hasan, from Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, from Muhammad ibn Sinan, from Abu al-Jarud, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said: I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about ‘the tooth-stick (siwak) for the fasting person.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “He may use the tooth-stick (siwak) at whichever hour he wishes, from the beginning of the day to its end.”
