Chapter on Ruling of Treatment for the Fasting Person, Kohl, Cupping, the Tooth-Stick (Siwak), Entering the Bathhouse, and Other than That
And Muhammad ibn Yaqub narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from Abdullah ibn al-Mughirah, from Abdullah ibn Sinan, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him:
He disliked for the fasting person to use a moist tooth-stick (siwak). And Imam عليه السلام said: “There is no harm in moistening his tooth-stick (siwak) with water, then shaking it off until nothing remains in it.”
