About the Occultation
Al-Imāma wa’l-Tabṣira min al-Ḥayra|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 10
ʿAbd Allāh b. Jaʿfar al-Ḥimyarī said: “Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Abī’l-Khaṭṭāb narrated to us, from Mūsā b. Saʿdān, from ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Qāsim, from al-Mufaḍḍal b. ʿUmar, who narrated: “I asked Abā ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام about the exegesis of Jābir, so he said: “Do not narrate it to ruffians, for they will disseminate it (if you do that). Have you not read, in the Book of Allāh عز وجل: ﴾When the Trumpet will be sounded﴿? [74:8]—Indeed, one of us is an Imam concealed. When Allāh عز وجل intends to make his matter apparent, He will make a mark upon his heart. So, he will appear, and issue orders on the basis of Allāh’s عز وجل ordinance.”
