Al-Imāma wa’l-Tabṣira min al-Ḥayra|Volume 1|Book 3|Chapter 15
Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh, from Muḥammad b. al-Ṣāliḥ, who narrates: “I wrote to him, requesting supplication for Badāshāla, who had been imprisoned by Ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz,[1] and seeking permission to have a child by a bondswoman of mine, so came out: “Have a child with her, for Allāh does what He wills. As for the prisoner, Allāh will free him.” I had a child with the bondswoman and she gave birth, but then died.[2] The prisoner was let go the same day the written directive came out to me.”
