2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd from Muhammad ibn abu Hamzah from Shu’ayb al-Hadad who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, ‘One of your followers offers greetings of peace to you and he wants to marry a woman who has agreed and he likes her due to certain matters about her and she has a husband who has divorced her three times on non-Sunnah basis. He dislikes marrying her without your instruction so you command him to do so. Abu ‘Abd Allah عليه السلام, said, ‘It is an issue of marriage and the matter of marriage is severe because from marriage are children and we maintain precaution, so he must not marry her.’”
