ثم تصلي ركعتين فإذا فرغت فقل يا من اظهر الجميل وستر القبيح يا من لم يهتك السترو لم يؤاخذ بالجريرة يا عظيم العفو يا حسن التجاوز يا واسع المغفرة يا باسط اليدين بالرحمة يا صاحب كل نجوى ومنتهى كل شكوى يا مقيل العثرات يا كريم الصفح يا عظيم المن يا مبتدأ بالنعم قبل استحقاقها يا رباه يا سيداه يا أملاه يا غاية رغبتي أسألك بك يا الله ألا تشوه خلقي بالنار وان تقضي لي حوائج آخرتي ودنياي وتفعل بي كذا وكذا وتصلي على محمد وآل محمد وتدعو بما بدا لك ثم تصلي ركعتين فإذا فرغت فقل اللهم خلقتني فأمرتني ونهيتني ورغبتني في ثواب ما به أمرتني ورهبتني عقاب ما عنه نهيتني وجعلت لي عدوا يكيدني وسلطته منى على ما لم تسلطنى عليه منه فأسكنته في صدري وأجريته مجرى الدم منى لا يغفل ان غفلت ولا ينسى إن نسيت يؤمنى عذابك ويخوفنى بغيرك ان هممت بفاحشة شجعني وان هممت بصالح ثبطني ينصب لي بالشهوات ويعرض لي بها إن وعدني كذبني وان مناني قنطني وان اتبعت هواه أضلني وإن لا تصرف عني كيده يستزلني وإن لا تفلتني من حبائله يصدني وإن لا تعصمني منه يفتني اللهم فصل على محمد وآله واقهر سلطانه علي بسلطانك عليه حتى تحبسه عني بكثرة الدعاء لك مني فأفوز في المعصومين منه بك ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بك روى هذا الدعاء والذي قبله
Then you perform two units of prayer. When you finish, say: “O’ He عز وجل who reveals the beautiful and conceals the ugly, O’ He عز وجل who does not tear the veil and does not seize for wrongdoing, O’ Most Great in pardon, O’ Excellent in overlooking, O’ Vast in forgiveness, O’ Extender of both hands in mercy, O’ Companion of every secret and ultimate goal of every complaint, O’ Remover of stumbles, O’ Generous in forgiveness, O’ Magnificent in bestowal, O’ Beginner of blessings before they are deserved. O’ my Lord عز وجل, O’ my Master, O’ my Protector, O’ ultimate aim of my desire I ask You عز وجل, by You عز وجل. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, not to disfigure my form with the Fire, and to fulfill for me the needs of my Hereafter and my worldly life, and to do for me such and such.” And then you send blessings upon (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and you supplicate with whatever you wish. Then you perform two units of prayer. When you finish, say: “O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, You عز وجل created me, then You عز وجل commanded me and forbade me. You عز وجل made me desirous of the reward for that which You عز وجل commanded me with, and fearful of the punishment for that which You عز وجل forbade me from. And You عز وجل appointed for me an enemy who plots against me, and You عز وجل gave him power over me in that which I have no power over him. So You عز وجل caused him to dwell in my chest and made him flow within me like blood. He (enemy) does not become heedless if I am heedless, and he (enemy) does not forget if I forget. He makes me feel safe from Your punishment and frightens me with other than You عز وجل. If I intend to commit an indecency, he encourages me, And if I intend to do good, he discourages me. He sets up desires before me and displays them to me. If he promises me, he lies to me; and if he fills me with hope, he makes me despair. And if I follow his desire, he leads me astray. And if You عز وجل do not turn away his (enemy) plotting from me, he will cause me to slip; and if You عز وجل do not rescue me from his traps, he will hinder me; and if You عز وجل do not protect me from him, he will tempt me. O’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, so send blessings upon (Prophet) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and his family عليه السلام, And subdue his (enemy) authority over me with Your authority over him, until You عز وجل restrain him from me through my frequent supplication to You عز وجل so I may be among those protected from him through You عز وجل. And there is no power and no strength except through You.” This supplication and the one before it were narrated by:
