قال الشيخ رحمه الله:) فان تعمد فيه الافطار قبل الزوال لم يكن عليه شئ وصام يوما بدله إذا شاء، وان افطر بعد الزوال وجب عليه الكفارة وهي اطعام شرة مساكين وصام بدله يوما، فان لم يمكنه الاطعام صام ثلاثة ايام بدل الاطعام(. يدل على ذلك ما رواه:

The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah have mercy on him, said: “If he deliberately breaks the fast in it before midday (zawal), nothing is upon him, and he fasts a day in its place whenever he wishes. If he breaks the fast after midday (zawal), the expiation (kaffarah) becomes obligatory upon him, and it is feeding ten poor persons, and he fasts a day in its place. If he is unable to feed them, he fasts three days in place of feeding them.” What indicates that is what he narrated (in the following hadith):
