On Various Traditions From Imam Ali Ibn Musa al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم

28-76 Abul Hasan Muhammad bin al-Qasim al-Jirjani the interpreter - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Ahmad ibn Al-Hassan Al-Husseini quoted on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Ali صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his father Ali ibn Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his father Muhammad ibn Ali صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his father Al-Ridha صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, on the authority of his father Musa ibn Ja’far صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, “As-Sadiq صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم was asked about abstinence in this world.” He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم said, “It implies abstaining from the lawful for fear of the Reckoning, and abstaining from the forbidden for fear of punishment.”
