The Funeral Prayer (Salat Al-Janazah)
Man Lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 26
وَقَالَ اَلصَّادِقُ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: «إِذَا فَاتَتْكَ اَلصَّلاَةُ عَلَى اَلْمَيِّتِ حَتَّى يُدْفَنَ فَلاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ وَ قَدْ دُفِنَ.
Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: "If you miss the funeral prayer for the deceased until they are buried, there is no problem in performing the prayer for them after they have been buried”.
