Chapter on Water and Its Rules, and What is Permissible and Impermissible for Purification

The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Ahmad ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Abu Ja'far, from his father, from Hafs ibn Ghiyath, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad عليه السلام, who said: Imam عليه السلام said: "Water is not rendered impure except by something that has flowing blood (nafs sa'ilah)."
