Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 12
Narrated to me by the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, from Abu Ja’far Muhammad bin Ali, from Muhammad bin Al-Hasan, from Ahmad bin Idris, from Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Yahya, from Muhammad bin Isa, from Yunus bin Abdul-Rahman, from some of his companions, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام:
I asked Imam عليه السلام: "Is it permissible to touch a fox, a rabbit, or any predatory animal, whether alive or dead?" Imam عليه السلام said: "It does not harm him, but he should wash his hand."
