The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ibrahim ibn Abi Mahmoud. He said:
I said to Al-Ridha عليه السلام: "A carpet or a mattress that is thick and heavily stuffed - how should it be treated if urine touches it?" Imam عليه السلام said: "Wash what is visible of it on its surface."
