Chapter on Guiding the Dying, Positioning Them at Death, Procedures for Their Final Moments, Washing Them, and Placing Them in Shrouds

Narrated by the Shaykh, from Abu al-Qasim Ja‘far bin Muhammad, from Muhammad bin Ya‘qub, from Humayd bin Ziyad, from al-Hasan bin Muhammad, from more than one narrator, from Aban, from a man, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام: Imam عليه السلام said regarding a man who dies among people at sea. Imam عليه السلام said: “He should be washed, shrouded, prayed over, weighted, and then cast into the sea.”
