Chapter on Menstruation, Istihada (abnormal bleeding), and Nifas (postpartum bleeding)

Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya narrated from Mu'awiyah ibn Hakim, from Ibn Abi Umayr, from Aban ibn Uthman, from Abdurrahman, who said: I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام about a woman who menstruated and then became pure while on a journey, but she could not find water for two or three days. Is it permissible for her husband to have intercourse with her? Imam عليه السلام said: "It is not permissible for her husband to have intercourse with her until she performs ghusl (ritual purification)."
