أَبُو عَلِيٍّ اَلْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ اَلنَّضْرِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ:« يَا مَعْشَرَ اَلنَّاسِ لاَ أُلْفِيَنَّ رَجُلاً مَاتَ لَهُ مَيِّتٌ لَيْلاً فَانْتَظَرَ بِهِ اَلصُّبْحَ وَ لاَ رَجُلاً مَاتَ لَهُ مَيِّتٌ نَهَاراً فَانْتَظَرَ بِهِ اَللَّيْلَ لاَ تَنْتَظِرُوا بِمَوْتَاكُمْ طُلُوعَ اَلشَّمْسِ وَ لاَ غُرُوبَهَا عَجِّلُوا بِهِمْ إِلَى مَضَاجِعِهِمْ رَحِمَكُمُ اَللَّهُ تَعَالَى» قَالَ اَلنَّاسُ وَ أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ يَرْحَمُكَ اَللَّهُ.
Abu Ali Al-Ash’ari, from Muhammad ibn Salim, from Ahmad ibn Al-Nadr, from Amr ibn Shimr, from Jabir, narrated from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "O people! Let me not find any man whose deceased passes away at night, and he waits until morning, or whose deceased passes away during the day, and he waits until night. Do not delay your dead until the rising or setting of the sun. Hasten to lay them in their resting places. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy upon you." The people said: "And may Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy upon you, O Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى."
