Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 3
Narrated to me by the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, who said: Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Al-Hasan narrated to me, from his father, from Muhammad bin Yahya and Ahmad bin Idris, from Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Yahya, from Abu Abdullah, from Ali bin Sulayman, from Al-Hasan bin Ashyam, who said:
Imam عليه السلام said: 'Eating ushnan (a cleansing herb) melts the body, rubbing with pottery fragments wears out the body, and using a miswak (tooth-stick) in the toilet causes bad breath.'
