Chapter on Etiquettes of Causes Requiring Purification

وَ أَخْبَرَنِي اَلشَّيْخُ أَيَّدَهُ اَللَّهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ أَشَدَّ اَلنَّاسِ تَوَقِّياً عَنِ اَلْبَوْلِ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ اَلْبَوْلَ يَعْمِدُ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مُرْتَفِعٍ مِنَ اَلْأَرْضِ أَوْ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ اَلْأَمْكِنَةِ يَكُونُ فِيهِ اَلتُّرَابُ اَلْكَثِيرُ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ يُنْضَحَ عَلَيْهِ اَلْبَوْلُ».
Narrated to me by the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, from Ahmad bin Muhammad, from his father, from Muhammad bin Yahya, from Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Yahya, from Ali bin Isma'il, from Safwan, from Abdullah bin Muskan, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام, who said:
Imam عليه السلام said: 'The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him and his family) was the most cautious of people regarding urination. When He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم intended to urinate, He صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم would go to an elevated spot of land or to a place with a lot of soil, to avoid the urine splashing back onto him.'
