Chapter on the Description of Ablution (Wudu)

The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, informed me from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan ibn Aban, from al-Husayn ibn Saʿid, from Muhammad ibn Abi ʿUmayr, from Ibn Udhaynah, from Zurarah, who said: One of the Imams عليه السلام was asked about a man who started (ablution) with his hands before his face and with his feet before his hands. Imam عليه السلام replied: "He should begin with what Allah سبحانه وتعالى has begun with, and he should repeat (ablution) from what he has done."
