Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 4
Al-Husayn bin Sa‘id narrated from Hammad, from Hariz, from Zurarah, who said:
(Narrator said) Imam عليه السلام said to me: "If you were to perform ablution and wash the feet instead of wiping them, and you intended that this washing was part of the obligatory acts, it would not count as valid ablution." Then Imam عليه السلام said: "Begin by wiping over the feet. If it occurs to you to wash them and you do so, then wipe over them afterward, so that the obligatory act is the final one performed."
