The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, informed me from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan ibn Aban, from al-Husayn ibn Saʿid, from al-Qasim ibn ʿUrwah, from Abdullah ibn Sinan, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام, who said:
Imam عليه السلام said: "Rinsing the mouth (Madmada) and sniffing water into the nose (Istinshaq) are among the practices established by the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)."
