Chapter on the Description of Ablution (Wudu)

The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, informed me from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan ibn Aban, from al-Husayn ibn Saʿid, from Ibn Abi ʿUmayr, from Ibn Udhaynah, from al-Fudayl, who said: Abu Abdullah عليه السلام was asked about a man in a state of major ritual impurity (Janabah) who performs Ghusl, and water splashes from the ground back into the container. Imam عليه السلام said: "There is no harm in it. This is part of what Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, has said: ‘Allah سبحانه وتعالى has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty.’" (Surat al-Hajj, 22:78).
