The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, informed me from Abu al-Qasim Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ali ibn al-Hakam, from Aban ibn ʿUthman, from Muhammad ibn al-Nuʿman, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام, who said:
I said to Imam عليه السلام: "I cleanse myself (Istinjaʾ), and then my garment touches the water while I am in a state of major ritual impurity (Janabah). Is there any harm in this?" Imam عليه السلام said: "There is no harm in it."
