As for the narration reported by Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub, from a group of our companions, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Abu al-Hasan al-Rida
I asked Imam عليه السلام about wiping over the feet - how it should be performed. Imam عليه السلام placed his palm on the toes and wiped them up to the ankles, covering the top of the feet. I said: "May I be your ransom! What if a person wipes with just two fingers?" Imam عليه السلام replied: "No, it must be with the palm."
