مَا أَخْبَرَنَا بِهِ اَلشَّيْخُ أَيَّدَهُ اَللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَقُولُ: وَذَكَرَ اَلتَّيَمُّمَ وَمَا صَنَعَ عَمَّارٌ فَوَضَعَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى اَلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ وَ كَفَّيْهِ وَلَمْ يَمْسَحِ اَلذِّرَاعَيْنِ بِشَيْءٍ.
What was narrated to us by the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from al-Husayn ibn Sa'id, from Fadalah ibn Ayyub, from Hammad ibn Uthman, from Zurara, who said:
I heard Abu Ja'far عليه السلام mention Tayammum and the actions of Ammar. Abu Ja'far عليه السلام placed his palms on the ground, then wiped his face and his palms, and did not wipe his forearms at all.
