مَا أَخْبَرَنِي بِهِ اَلشَّيْخُ أَيَّدَهُ اَللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى وَ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ وَ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلتَّمَسُّحِ بِالْأَحْجَارِ فَقَالَ« كَانَ اَلْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَمْسَحُ بِثَلاَثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ».
Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from his father, from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from al-Husayn ibn Sa'id, from Safwan ibn Yahya, Fadalah ibn Ayyub, and al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Faddal, from Abdullah ibn Bukayr, from Zurara, from Abu Ja'far عليه السلام, who said:
I asked Imam عليه السلام about wiping with stones (for purification). Imam عليه السلام said: "(Imam) Al-Husayn ibn Ali عليه السلام would wipe with three stones."
