Chapter on Rulings on Forgetfulness (Sahw) in Prayer and What Requires Repeating of Prayer
Muhammad bin Ya‘qub, from Ali bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad, from Hariz, from Zurarah:
Abu Ja‘far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said: “When you face the qiblah with your face, do not turn your face away from the qiblah, lest your prayer become invalid. For indeed, Allah سبحانه وتعالى the Exalted said to His Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, peace be upon him, regarding the obligatory prayer: ‘So turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque, and wherever you are, turn your faces toward it’ (Surah Baqarah 2:144 & 2:150). And lower your gaze, and do not raise it to the sky, but rather let it be aligned with your face at the place of your prostration."
